Edel Hartog


Edel is a partner in our Commercial team and is a member of the firm’s Technology and Energy, Utilities and Projects teams. She advises on all forms of commercial contracts, IT, telecoms and regulatory law and has particular experience advising on and negotiating large ICT transactions for public and private sector clients.

Edel has a focused regulatory practice, particularly in the area of utilities regulation (e.g. telecoms, electricity, gas and water) and public procurement. She advises on all forms of ICT, energy and associated projects and has worked on some of the most ground-breaking and innovative telecoms and energy projects in recent years.

Edel has worked both in practice and in-house – her industry experience means that her advice is focussed, commercial and pragmatic.

Representative Matters

  • Advised a leading meter operator on their successful bid in connection with the roll out of Ireland’s smart energy meters.
  • Advising the Department of Communications, Climate Action & Environment on the National Broadband Plan project - a state subsidised broadband infrastructure project making high speed broadband available to all households and businesses in the country.
  • Advising a number of leading energy and technology operators on their commercial contracting and associated regulatory arrangements.
