• • Advised an American multinational e-commerce organisation in respect of a Data Protection Commission (DPC) investigation into cookie compliance. Advised on the strategy to be adopted in the investigation and in respect of the organisation’s overall strategy on cookie compliance issues.
  • Represented an American e-commerce platform which was the subject of a DPC own-volition DPC inquiry in respect of the organisation’s compliance with GDPR.
  • Advised a statutory body in respect of a data breach caused by a phishing attack, which resulted in the commencement of a DPC own-volition inquiry. Advised the body in respect of both handling the breach (both from a strategic and operational perspective) and represented the organisation in the DPC inquiry.
  • Advised a US headquartered company in respect of a global data breach which resulted in a class action in the US and notifications to the Irish DPC. Advised in respect of the notification of the breach to the DPC and media outlets and advised in respect of a threatened multi-plaintiff lawsuit in Ireland.
  • Advised a medical facility in respect of a data breach which resulted in the disclosure of special category data of patients to external third parties. Advised the client in respect of notification obligations, carried out risk assessments and advised on the strategy for engaging with business customer who threatened litigation on foot of the breach/threatened to invoke early termination provisions in service level agreements.
  • Advised an American headquartered international software vendor on the introduction of a contact tracing and social distancing app across 12 jurisdictions which involved instructing and leading a team of lawyers across 12 jurisdictions.
  • Advised an American headquartered global AI software vendor on its international data transfer project.
