William Carmody


William is the Head of our Financial Services team. He represents financial institutions and corporate borrowers on a range of secured and unsecured lending transactions, including project finance, leveraged M&A, financing of commercial real estate investments and development, corporate working capital debt requirements and Irish law issues in multi-jurisdictional finance transactions. Will provides strategic advice in relation to complex debt restructurings and our clients’ analysis of finance and investment decisions. 

Will’s project finance practice has a particular emphasis on the financing of renewable energy projects and he has advised project sponsors, bank funders and investors on the development of wind, solar and biomass electricity generation projects. He has also advised on the financing of infrastructure investment and development in the transport, health, education and accommodation sectors.

Representative Matters

  • Will advised a syndicate of banks comprising Allied Irish Banks, Santander, Royal Bank of Canada, BNP Paribas and Commerzbank on the provision of a €250 million revolving credit facility to Greencoat plc, the renewable energy infrastructure publicly listed investment fund.
  • Will advised Bank of Ireland on the financing of the acquisition and development of a portfolio of 4 primary healthcare centres in Ireland by MedicX, a listed healthcare fund with a value of €440 million which has 157 primary healthcare properties across the UK and Ireland.
  • Will advised Nordeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale and DNB Bank ASA on the €70 million financing of the 45MW Slievecallan West windfarm, developed by Invis Energy.
