David Ormsby


David is a Partner on our Dispute Resolution team. David practices in corporate and personal insolvency law and all related litigation.  His experience includes acting for secured creditors, usually financial institutions, unsecured creditors of companies in financial distress and insolvency practitioners.

David routinely advises companies and their officers in relation to solvency issues and acts for a variety of stakeholders on formal insolvency processes including examinership, compulsory and voluntary liquidation, receivership and bankruptcy.

David has experience of a wide range of insolvency related litigation.  He regularly acts for lenders on high value recoveries and disputes about the priority of claims and for insolvency office holders in relation to the defence of a wide range of proceedings brought by borrowers.

As an experienced member of our Insolvency and Restructuring team as well as our Dispute Resolution team, David delivers concise and pragmatic advice to clients in high pressure situations to allow them to achieve the best commercial outcome as quickly as possible.

Representative Matters

  • Acted for various financial institutions on high value recoveries and on the defence of a wide range of proceedings issued by debtors. 
  • Advising the liquidator of the Doonbeg group.
  • Acted for the committee of creditors appointed to Custom House Capital Limited (in liquidation).
