MHC recently advised Société Générale as senior lender on the financing of a portfolio of solar farms by a joint venture between Irish renewable energy developer BNRG and French renewable energy producer NEOEN. MHC advised Société Générale on all aspects of the financing, to include drafting and negotiating all of the finance and security documents, and carrying out extensive due diligence on all aspects of the project, including the construction contracts, regulatory and offtake contracts, all title and real estate matters, and planning requirements.

This is one of the first utility scale solar projects in Ireland and will generate enough electricity for over 12,000 homes. This project is illustrative of increasing demand for renewable energy sources due to aggressive climate change and renewable energy targets at both a national and European level.
