We are fortunate to have one of the most important corporate art collections of Irish and International contemporary art in Dublin. Included in the collection is “The Girl with Pearl Earrings” by Chris Banahan. Vanessa Byrne, co-head of our Real Estate team, tells us why she has chosen this piece:

“When I joined MHC in 2003 the Girl with Pearl Earring painting and its diptych partner painting hung in the reception area of Fitzwilliam Square. They were a modern twist on an old master which also summed up how I felt Mason Hayes & Curran distinguished itself from its competitor firms. The movie about the girl in the original Vermeer painting also came out in 2003 which I think reinforced my affection for these paintings. Whenever I catch a glimpse of them around the office these days I appreciate their aesthetic beauty and feel a pang of nostalgia.”

Support of the visual arts is a large part of our CSR strategy and we are a long-time supporter of “Business to Arts”, whose aim is to broker, enable and support creative partnerships between business and the arts.

We are also proud to sponsor the Royal Hibernian Academy’s (RHA) art education programme, which works with three schools in our local Ringsend area and allows children to learn about and interact with art.
