Advising Eiffel on €323 million Financing for Power Capital Renewable Energy

We were pleased to advise Eiffel Investment Group in its landmark €323 million financing facility for Power Capital Renewable Energy, Ireland’s largest solar independent power producer.

The financing complements Power Capital’s recently announced equity partnership with Infranity and Omnes and provides flexible capital to accelerate the build-out of its ambitious pipeline. The initial €168 million tranche refinances existing debt and supports the development and construction of solar and battery energy storage projects across Ireland. The facility, structured as a listed bond on the Vienna Stock Exchange, has the potential to be upsized to €323 million.

With over 230 MW currently operational, 330 MW under construction and a development pipeline exceeding 5 GW, Power Capital has become a central player in Ireland’s energy transition. The investment underscores Eiffel’s strategy of providing flexible debt capital to European independent power producers and follows its earlier €240 million construction equity facility with Power Capital in 2023.

Financial Services Partner, Conor Lynch commented:

"The transaction highlights Eiffel’s ability to structure innovative, large-scale financings that meet the evolving needs of leading renewable energy players. We were delighted to support Eiffel on a deal that reinforces its long-standing relationship with Power Capital and accelerates the delivery of clean energy projects at scale."

Eoin Cassidy, Partner and Energy sector Lead, added:

"Power Capital’s trajectory reflects Ireland’s shift towards a fully integrated renewable energy market. This deal provides the capital required to deliver on a pipeline that will materially contribute to Ireland’s 2030 renewable energy targets."

Our team was led by Conor Lynch with support from Eoin Cassidy, Stephen Cowhey (Partner, Real Estate), Niamh Caffrey (Partner, Co-Head of Tax) and Daragh O’Shea (Partner, Head of Debt Capital Markets and Structured Finance). They were assisted by Associates Ciarán Murray, Carl Grenville and Deirdre Hosford.
