Webinar: Child Protection Procedures for Secondary Schools

Event Date: 14 May 2021

We will host a webinar looking at Child Protection Procedures for Secondary Schools on Friday 14 May* at 11am.

*Please note date change

The Department of Education published comprehensive Child Protection Procedures for Schools in 2017.

This was a game changer for schools in that all teachers became mandated persons. In turn Boards of Management were tasked with strict oversight and compliance obligations which included dealing with allegations or suspicions of abuse against employees.

The MHC Education team will reflect on the challenges experienced by school leaders over the last 4 years and will discuss different scenarios. We will also be seeking your opinion as to how effective you feel the procedures are by means of online polls.

Speakers Include:

Ian O'Herlihy, Partner & Head of Education, Mason Hayes & Curran LLP

Liam Riordan, Partner, Mason Hayes & Curran LLP

Catherine Kelly, Senior Associate, Mason Hayes & Curran LLP

David Ruddy, BL, Mason Hayes & Curran LLP
