L to R: Kevin Power, Michaela Herron and Maurice Phelan

We are pleased to announce the appointment of new Regulatory Partner Michaela Herron. Michaela works with businesses across all sectors who manufacture, sell and supply products in the EU, in areas such as pharmaceutical, medical devices, software medical devices, wearables, cosmetics, chemicals and consumer products.

Michaela advises global companies throughout the life cycle of a product, from advice on obtaining regulatory approval, labelling, packaging, advertising and marketing, all the way through to product recalls, enforcement action, judicial review, criminal proceedings and product liability claims. She has particular experience defending high volume product liability claims, defending companies in criminal prosecutions for breaches of consumer protection legislation and with assisting global companies with multi-jurisdictional corrective actions, including product recalls.

Commenting on her appointment, Kevin Power, Head of Healthcare and Medical Law, said “We are delighted to welcome Michaela to the team. Her many years of experience across life sciences and product regulation give her a unique perspective into the diverse requirements of organisations working in these areas.”

Head of Dispute Resolution, Maurice Phelan, also commented, “Michaela is highly regarded for her ability to identify and evaluate the risks arising in an ever evolving regulatory landscape and for helping clients manage such risks. She is a trusted adviser with a deep understanding of her clients’ businesses and their legal requirements. I’m proud to welcome Michaela to the team”.

Michaela added “I am very pleased to join the firm and to continue to work with international companies across a number of industries, to assist them with their regulatory obligations and to support them when issues become contentious.”

Michaela is a regular speaker at international conferences and has authored a number of articles for the Law Society of Ireland Gazette. She is a member of the International Association of Defence Counsel, the British Institute for International Comparative Law’s Product Liability Forum and the International Consumer Products Health and Safety Organisation. Prior to joining the firm, Michaela worked in London for a number of years with a leading Life Sciences and Technology firm.
