Leading business law firm Mason Hayes & Curran has announced the appointment of Rachel Kavanagh as Head of their Insurance & Risk team.

Rachel specialises in insurance and claims litigation. She advises Irish and international insurance companies in relation to all aspects of insurance litigation, particularly in relation to personal injury claims, property damage claims, product liability, defamation and coverage disputes.

She also advises self-insured companies in relation to risk management, health and safety practices, claims handling and fraud detection. Rachel has acted for major Irish shopping centres, retail parks and international retailers in relation to employers liability, public liability and defamation claims and associated third party contractual issues. She has also acted for Irish Insurers with particular focus on claims arising of the agricultural, food production and food distribution sectors.

Prior to joining Mason Hayes & Curran in 2011, Rachel worked for 12 years in a Dublin law firm which specialised in insurance defence litigation.
