L to R: Edward Gleeson, Alice Murphy and David O'Donnell

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Alice Murphy as a partner in our Corporate Charities team.

Alice works with charities, healthcare providers and education bodies, advising on all their legal and governance requirements. She helps organisations navigate legal and regulatory frameworks, so that they can focus on their mission and their services to beneficiaries.

Alice delivers strategic advice to charities and not-for-profits, enabling them to plan for the future. She also guides organisations through complex governance issues and works with boards of directors to achieve best practice in a charity specific context.

Commenting on her appointment, Edward Gleeson, Partner and Head of Charities & Not-for-Profit, said “I am pleased to announce Alice’s appointment. Charities and not-for-profits face unique regulatory and governance challenges. Alice’s extensive experience gives her a deep appreciation of the vision of our clients, and allows her to deliver pragmatic solutions to the challenges they face.”

David O’Donnell, Partner and Head of Corpoalrate added “Corporate Governance has become an increasingly complex area for charities and for the not-for-profit sector. Alice is a leading practitioner in her field, and is focused on helping her clients deliver their services in an efficient and effective way.”

Alice commented “I am delighted to join the partnership and continue my work with Niamh Callaghan and the rest of the Corporate Charities team. The team understands the unique pressures faced by the sector, and our focus is on working collaboratively with organisations to address their strategic issues.”

Alice is a regular speaker at industry events and provides training to boards of directors and trustees of Irish charities on charity law and compliance with regulatory obligations. She was previously a senior associate with Mason Hayes & Curran.
