New Appointments in key areas such as Corporate, Real Estate, Construction and Healthcare & Medical

Business law firm Mason Hayes & Curran LLP has announced five strategic appointments including Ron Boucher in Corporate, Janet Cafferky in Real Estate, Paul Bassett in Construction, Laura Kearney in Governance and Jennifer Henry in Healthcare.

These appointments deepen the firm’s expertise in these key areas and underline its depth of resources which enables it to deliver rapid, relevant and concise legal advice to clients. The appointments also reflect increased demand in key sectors such as Built Environment, Technology and Healthcare & Life Sciences.

Ron Boucher

Ron is a Partner in our Corporate team. Ron’s international experience and pragmatic style allows him to understand the needs of clients throughout M&A transactions and provide practical and innovative solutions. He works with both Irish and international businesses on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity transactions. Ron is highly experienced in secondary buyouts, acquisitions of and investments into founder-led businesses, and disposals to trade and institutional investors. Prior to joining Mason Hayes & Curran LLP, Ron worked with two leading US firms in London.

Janet Cafferky

Janet is now a Partner in our Real Estate team specialising in the Built Environment. She recently acted in one of largest single residential property transactions in the history of the Irish state, so she has a deep understanding of the various stakeholders and time sensitivities in the sector. Working with institutional investors, particularly in the residential area, Janet advises on the acquisition, disposal and financing of all property assets. She has extensive expertise in the private rental sector, multi-family developments and social housing transactions. She advises real estate investors including REITs, PE houses and investment banks on large scale residential property acquisitions. Janet was previously a Senior Associate with Mason Hayes & Curran LLP.

Paul Bassett

Paul practices in Construction law and is now a Consulting Partner. Paul’s experience means that he is able to future proof construction projects and ensure that risk is managed early to ensure that long-term commercial viability is secured. Versatility is critical in the current environment and Paul has been able to draw on his experience to create innovative solutions for clients including a recent ‘forward funded’ project in the social housing area. Paul was previously a Senior Associate with Mason Hayes & Curran LLP.

Laura Kearney

Laura is Director of our Corporate Governance & Compliance team. Laura helps people and organisations navigate the complex statutory and regulatory environment in Ireland. She also assists companies that need to restructure or reorganise for greater efficiency or to manage any unnecessary risk exposure. Recently she worked with a number of clients, from start-ups to large multinationals, to ensure they complied with the Register of Beneficial Ownership Regulations. Laura was previously a Manager with Mason Hayes & Curran LLP.

Jennifer Henry

Jennifer advises on medico-legal matters and is a Partner in our Healthcare & Medical team. She supports clients in providing patient centred care while managing risk in an increasing litigious environment. Jennifer practices primarily in the defence of medical malpractice High Court actions, helping hospitals and healthcare professionals with complex, high value medical negligence claims. She is known for her ability to distil complex and multi-layered claims into core and manageable matters. Prior to joining to the firm, Jennifer worked for a well-known international law firm where she acted for many of the largest medical indemnifiers.
