Oisín Tobin


Oisín is a Partner in our Technology and Privacy and Data Security teams.

Oisín focuses on advising and defending leading technology companies. He has particular experience in formulating and implementing global privacy and data transfer strategies, advising on the development and rollout of innovative technologies and acting for businesses under investigation by European data protection authorities or engaged in privacy-related litigation.

Oisín also counsels technology companies on their international expansion plans. He has a reputation as the go-to lawyer for commercially driven privacy and technology law advice in difficult cases and represents many of the internet’s best-known companies.

Representative Matters

  • Advising Facebook as privacy counsel in respect of contentious regulatory investigations and litigation, including with respect to Cambridge Analytica and the Schrems litigation concerning the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
  • Acting as lead counsel to Slack for all EU privacy matters, including coordinating numerous aspects of Slack’s international scaling and expansion. 
  • Acting as lead GDPR counsel for many of the West Coast’s best known internet companies, counselling on all aspects of GDPR compliance and advising on the development of new products and services in light of the GDPR’s requirements.
