We are fortunate to have one of the most important corporate art collections of Irish and International contemporary art in Dublin. Included in the collection is '9-11 Memorial' by Michelle Rodgers.

Melanie Crowley, Head of our Employment Law and Benefits Team has chosen this piece as her favourite from our collection and she explains why:

"I have to admit to not being an expert when it comes to art. That said, they say art should move you and there is one piece in the MHC art collection which moves me every time I see it.

This large and very powerful piece entitled '9-11 Memorial' is by Irish artist Michelle Rogers. Every time I walk by it my heart skips a beat. No matter where you look, your eyes are drawn to the overwhelming extent of the destruction. The stark contrast of the colours, for me, capture that mix of sadness and shock everyone felt at the time versus the almost unnatural sense of pride in the camaraderie of people coming together and pitching in to help with the rescue and clean-up operations. The ultimate sign of courage and bravery in the face of adversity – a very powerful message."
