The article explores the impact of the Green Public Procurement Strategy and Action Plan, recently published by the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications.

Dorit discusses the legal considerations arising from the Action Plan and its requirement for more onerous monitoring and reporting.

She notes: “With increased scrutiny on environmental issues, Green Public Procurement (GPP) will become increasingly important. As a result, contracting authorities will come under more pressure to incorporate GPP criteria into their procurement processes.”
