Sara is a partner in our Financial Services team specialising in investment funds and asset management. Sara has 16 years' experience practising as an investment funds lawyer both in practice and in-house.

Sara has extensive experience advising on the establishment, structuring and operation of all types of Irish investment fund structures, including UCITS, RIAIFs and QIAIFs.  Having worked as Head of Legal and General Counsel at both an AIFM and Super Manco, Sara has a particular focus on the establishment, regulation and operation of UCITS management companies and AIFMs.

Sara also advises investment managers, administrators, depositaries, distributors and other funds service providers on ongoing legal and regulatory matters connected to the operation of their business.

Representative Matters

  • Head of Legal at Sanlam Asset Management (Ireland) Limited, a South African owned UCITS Manco and AIFM regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland currently managing in excess of US$8 billion where Sara provided legal advice to Sanlam and its fund platforms, namely Sanlam Universal Funds plc (UCITS), Sanlam Global Funds plc (RIAIF) and Sanlam Qualifying Investors Funds plc (QIAIF) 
  • General Counsel at Londinium DAC, a MiFID investment firm where Sara was involved in the establishment of Aran Asset Management, an AIFM authorised and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.  Sara also advised on the authorisation by the Central Bank of Aran Energy ICAV and Aran ICAV.
  • Senior Legal Counsel at HSBC Securities Services where Sara advised and supported HSBC’s senior management, compliance and operational teams on matters of legal/regulatory impact on their administration and depositary businesses.
