We are pleased to have advised Statkraft Ireland on the sale of Ireland’s largest solar park to Octopus Renewables Infrastructure Trust (ORIT).

Ballymacarney solar park, which consists of four solar farms with a combined capacity of 199 MW, was developed and constructed by Statkraft Ireland and sold to ORIT under a conditional forward sale agreement.

Eoin Cassidy, our Energy Sector Lead Partner, led the team advising on the deal and commented: “We are delighted to see such a great outcome for the Statkraft team and are proud to have advised on such a significant transaction, the largest of its kind in Ireland.

For over two decades we have advised on projects at the forefront of the energy sector, supporting our clients through pivotal developments and helping to shape Ireland’s renewable energy future. We look forward to continuing to contribute our expertise to such transformative projects and to building a greener, more sustainable Ireland for generations to come.”

In addition to advising on the forward sale to ORIT, we advised on the project from land procurement all the way through to commissioning and operation. The team also included Partner William Dillon-Leetch, Senior Associates Deirdre Hosford and Nicola McKane, and Associates Ross Merriman and Naomi Murphy.
