For the next MHC Intern Life, we talked to Sean O'Tighearnaigh. Sean is entering his final year of Law and Business in Trinity College Dublin and is currently an intern at the firm. We asked him to describe a typical day for his third week during his internship.

As I am coming to the end of the third and final week of the internship, it is the perfect time to look back and reflect. It has certainly been an action-packed and exciting three weeks and the time has flown by.

This week, myself and two other interns had the opportunity to deliver a presentation on a very pertinent issue to a panel composed of partners, associates and business services staff. The presentation was on the topic of ESG challenges for financial institutions. The other interns and I received a huge amount of support to prepare for the presentation and made use of the fantastic research and knowledge resources available within the firm throughout our preparation.

I am working in the Financial Services team and have been given really varied and engaging work which has enabled me to get a real insight into the day-to-day work of a lawyer here.

Outside of the work side of the internship, I have realised that there is a great social element to the firm. The trainees especially have welcomed us interns with open arms and have given us great tips and insights. We were also taken out for a meal by some of the partners which was very enjoyable. I have been involved in the football team during my short time here and have been fortunate enough to participate in two wins in the heavily contested solicitor’s league.
