Since April 2021, we have offered a Domestic Violence and Child Protection training programme in partnership with The School of Social Work and Social Policy at Trinity College Dublin.
To date more than 500 professionals have engaged in online training, including social workers, domestic violence support workers, family support workers, gardaí, medical professionals and teachers.
In response to demand for in-person training, we are hosting our first conference on Domestic Violence and Child Protection on Friday, 8 September at Trinity.
The conference is aimed at practitioners including social workers, lawyers, policy makers and domestic violence support practitioners who may not have time to take the course, but want to engage with key learnings from research, legislation and practice in this complex area.

The core aim of the conference is to summarise the key issues arising in practice in terms of the legal framework and research findings.
We are also pleased to advise that our Domestic Violence and Child Protection course is now offered as part of the new national micro-credential programme, MicroCreds.ie. Delivered online over a six-week period, the course provides specialised training to practitioners who work with families and children experiencing domestic violence.
