Finnian O’Neill


Finnian is an Associate in our Public, Regulatory and Investigations team.

Finnian advises clients in both the public and private sectors in relation to a broad range of issues, particularly in relation to public law litigation matters, regulatory and information law. He specialises in judicial review proceedings on behalf of public bodies and those challenging the decisions of public bodies. He also acts for a number of clients in other litigation and dispute resolution matters.

Finnian regularly advises public bodies on their powers, duties and functions and has experience in advising clients on information law, including compliance with data protection and freedom of information legislation.

  • Acting for a large pharmaceutical company in judicial review proceedings challenging the authorisation of a generic pharmaceutical product

Representing the Health Insurance Authority in its recent statutory appeal and judicial review proceedings before the Court of Appeal 

  • Acting for a State-appointed Assessor under the Anglo Irish Bank Corporation Act 2009 in judicial review proceedings in the Commercial Court
