Supporting The Silent Vocal Language of Textiles Presented to mark International Day of Peace

Featuring works from the internationally recognised Conflict Textiles Collection, the exhibition explores the ability of textiles to communicate where words fail. It invites visitors to consider how art can preserve memory and support dialogue about the lasting human impact of conflict.

Northern Ireland holds a central place within the exhibition and textiles from the region are presented as important cultural records, documenting everyday life and community resilience during this period of significant social and political change.

The Silent Vocal Language of Textiles will feature a piece honouring John Hume, presented with the support of his estate. Following the exhibition, the collection will be designated as a public collection and displayed with the support of Ulster University.

Our support reflects our longstanding commitment to the visual arts, which is a key pillar of our wider CSR programme. It also continues that commitment in London, where we have had an office for more than two decades.

The Silent Vocal Language of Textiles is being shown at D Contemporary in London from 18 September to 2 October 2026.
