Christine O'Donovan (centre, floral dress), Chair of our Art Committee, with the finalists of the 2025 RDS Visual Art Awards

We would like to congratulate the very talented artists, detailed below, who have won this year's RDS Visual Art Awards.

We are especially pleased to announce Thaís Muniz as the winner of the RDS Mason Hayes & Curran LLP Centre Culturel Irlandais Residency Award.

Brazilian-Irish visual artist Thaís, who also won the R.C. Lewis-Crosby Award, studied at the Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology. She works across multiple mediums to explore the intersections between inherited and acquired identities, memory, transit, and inward love.

'The Kite Ballet' by Thaís Muniz

Her two-channel piece The Kite Ballet was lauded for transforming kite flying into a ‘revolutionary act’ addressing environmental issues.

The work of this year’s shortlisted artists is on show until 25 January 2026 at the RHA Gallery, and we encourage you to attend.
