We hosted our second Employment Law Top Tips webinar of the year on Wednesday 1 June, entitled 'The Protected Disclosures (Amendment) Bill: Employers Should Act Now'.

The Government has published the long awaited Protected Disclosures Amendment Bill 2022. The Bill will transpose the EU Whistleblowing Directive and is intended to significantly enhance the protections for whistleblowers in Ireland. Employers who already have internal whistleblowing procedures in place, will likely need to make changes to those procedures in light of the Bill, while employers without existing whistleblowing systems but who now fall within the legislative scope will need to establish and maintain compliant whistleblowing procedures.

During this webinar, we looked at whistleblowing from an Employer’s perspective, examined recent evidence from the Protected Disclosures Act 2014 and how the bill will require that this topic is given renewed attention.
