Una is Of Counsel in our Corporate team where she advises charities and not-for-profits on a wide range of structuring and compliance issues. She is a trusted advisor at a senior level, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality legal advice to her clients, whether individuals, committees, trustees, companies or directors. Una is a former Partner and brings this expertise to clients to focus on updating and establishing new legal and constitutional structures for clients in those sectors. Una advises charities and not-for-profits wishing to merge with other charities or to wind up their activities. Una regularly advises clients on corporate governance issues and on compliance with the governance codes relevant to the charities sector. 

Una advises her clients on compliance with the Charities Act 2009, Companies Act 2014 and governance codes. She also provides counsel to a range of organisations including trusts, associations and charitable companies. Una’s clients in the charities and not-for-profit sector include international NGO’s, public bodies, schools, universities, religious organisations and voluntary organisations. 

Una regularly provides advice on registration requirements and on-going reporting obligations under the Charities Act 2009 in Ireland and on establishing a registered charity in Ireland.
