Paul is a Partner and Chairman of our Corporate team, practising in corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions.
He advises public, private and State-owned companies generally and on matters of company law, corporate governance and securities law.
Paul is the author and co-author of several publications, including EU Securities Legislation (Co-authored with Mason Hayes & Curran Partner Fionán Breathnach, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2014), The Companies Acts of Ireland and the UK: Comparative Tables (Jordans, 1991 and 1995), Irish Corporate Procedures (Jordans, 1993, 1995 and 2007) and Jordans’ Irish Company Secretarial Precedents, (1995, 1999, 2003 and 2009 and 2016).
Paul is a corporate and securities lawyer. He has been a member of the statutory Company Law Review Group since 2000, with a particular focus on the law as it affects PLCs. He is the Law Society’s nominee to the Irish Takeover Panel. He is a member of the Council of the Law Society of Ireland and from 1987 until 2004 was a member of its Business Law Committee and its Chairman 2002 to 2004. He is also a member of the Irish Stock Exchange’s Regulatory Panel. He is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales, as well as Ireland.
