We were delighted to host our ‘Disability – a driver of innovation‘ event in collaboration with the DisAbility Legal Network on Wednesday 22 March in the Mason Hayes & Curran Offices and on Zoom.
The event explored the fact that the world is not always designed for people with disabilities and how disability is a driver of innovation. We also considered some of the assistive technologies and related funding grants available to help in the workplace. There was a “pop-up” assistive technology lab on the day for in-person attendees to see and try.
Our panelists included:
- Stuart Lawler, Business Development Manager with Sight and Sound Technology Ireland
- Siobhán Long, National Manager, Assistive Technology Training Service with Enable Ireland
- Matt McCann, Co-founder and CEO of Access Earth, public speaker on diversity and inclusion
- Katherine Lewis, Software Engineer, UX Designer, and Accessibility Champion at LinkedIn
Our panellists brought lived experiences to the discussion which was moderated by Gerard Kelly, Head of our Diversity Committee.
