Gender Pay Gap Report 2025

We are pleased to publish our 2025 Gender Pay Gap Report. Transparency remains central to how we measure and drive progress. As in previous years, we have included partners in our analysis, even though this goes beyond reporting requirements.

Key findings from our 2025 gender pay gap analysis

Including partners, the mean hourly pay gap remains at 51%, while the median increased from 24% to 33%. These results reflect the structure of the partnership, where senior roles with higher earnings can affect the overall median.

Excluding partners, the mean gap rose from 6% to 11% and the median from 21% to 23%. This movement reflects the current distribution of roles across the firm and strong female representation at early-career levels.

The mean and median bonus gaps improved to 41% and 57%, down from 51% and 71% last year.

Women represent 43% of partners, 59% of lawyers, and 68% of new hires. The stability at partner level and the strong representation of women across the firm, including in our lawyer and professional support teams, point to a healthy long-term pipeline for senior roles.

We continue to strengthen this pipeline through practical measures that support career progression at every level. A new Of Counsel promotion pathway was introduced in 2025, with six female appointments. Development opportunities for legal support staff have been enhanced, and mentoring and leadership programmes continue to support progression to partnership.

We also maintain our high-trust/high-flexibility hybrid working model to support flexibility and work-life balance. Comprehensive supports for parents, alongside fertility, surrogacy and menopause policies, remain in place, and new initiatives will focus on colleagues with caring responsibilities.

Our gender pay gap reflects the distribution of senior roles within the firm, not pay inequality. As more women progress into senior positions, we expect the gap to narrow further. Thanks to everyone that has contributed and supported our efforts over the last year.
