We are pleased to have advised the shareholders of Storyful on the €18M disposal of the business to News Corp, a US publicly listed global, diversified media and information services company.
We provided strategic and commercial legal advice to Storyful since it was established by former RTÉ journalist Mark Little in 2010 and are delighted to have acted on the successful sale of the business to News Corp. Commenting on the sale Mark said;
"Mason Hayes & Curran were there for Storyful from the very birth of the company, helping identify the pitfalls and opportunities that would shape its growth. Martin Kelleher was more than an adviser to me. At critical moments, right up to the sale of the company, he was a relentless advocate for the interests of Storyful and the vision which motivated our team. My ultimate conclusion is there could be no better law firm to represent a start-up with global ambition."
The acquisition by News Corp provided an exit for the Storyful shareholders including Ray Nolan, one of Ireland’s leading entrepreneurs, SOS Ventures, Enterprise Ireland and ACT Ventures.
Partner in our Corporate Department, Martin Kelleher, led the legal team on this transaction.
Martin said, “We are delighted to have worked with Mark and his fellow shareholders during the establishment, growth and successful sale of Storyful. As a law firm, we are focused on combining expert legal knowledge with commercial awareness to provide entrepreneurs and emerging technology companies with the best advice.”
