The Managing Partner of Mason Hayes & Curran, Emer Gilvarry, has announced that the firm has chosen Declan Black to be her successor. Declan will take up the role in April 2014.
Declan Black joined the firm in 1990. He has been a partner since 1998, a member of its management team since 2002 and the firm’s Head of Litigation since 2007. He is best known for his representation of Irish and international businesses in complex dispute resolution and insolvency.
Commenting on her successor, Ms Gilvarry said, “It has been a pleasure to have been part of the significant growth at Mason Hayes & Curran both in staff and revenues during what has been a very challenging time for the economy. I will be working closely with Declan in the coming months as we transition our roles and I would like to congratulate him on this exciting new opportunity.”
Mr Black said, “During Emer’s tenure the firm has cemented its place as one of Ireland’s Big 6 law firms. It is a testament to her leadership that the success of the firm is recognised by our clients as evidenced by our recent awards as Irish Law Firm of the Year and the Chambers Award for Client Service. The success of any law firm depends on the quality of service it provides to its clients and the firm will remain committed to this principle under my watch as Managing Partner.”
