We are pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Johnston as a partner in our Dispute Resolution team. Peter works predominantly in the area of commercial litigation, mediation and related advisory work and has extensive experience in the resolution of disputes through the Irish Courts, including the Commercial Court. He has a wide range of experience in corporate disputes, in particular multi-jurisdictional contractual and tortious disputes in a variety of matters, including advising underwriters, brokers and individuals with regard to assorted indemnity claims.

Peter has extensive experience of advising clients in matters involving financial litigation, which has included acting on behalf of two parties involved in separate Madoff-related proceedings with an overall value in excess of USD$3bn. He acts for a number of professional advisory firms, in particular accountancy firms, in defence of a variety of professional negligence claims.

He also acted for Activision Blizzard, Inc. on its US$5.9 billion acquisition of King Digital Entertainment plc and advised McKesson Corporation on its acquisition of the pharmaceutical distribution business of FTSE 250 company UDG Healthcare plc.

Peter lectures on the topic of litigation in the Law Society of Ireland and was co-author of the Ireland chapter in the PLC Dispute Resolution Handbook/Arbitration Handbook. He was previously a senior associate with the firm.
