On 12 December 2012, Mason Hayes & Curran, ICTR and PwC held another seminar in a series of seminars being run by the three organisations to help advise the charity and not-for-profit sector in Ireland on topical issues.
This seminar was hosted in PwC and explained how the changes to the section 848A tax relief scheme on charitable donations, as announced in Budget 2012, will affect relevant organisations. Sheila Nordon of ICTR explained the changes to the tax relief together with the proposals on simplifying administration of the scheme and how this is expected to work in practice. A panel of experts from the Department of Finance and the Revenue Commissioners were available for questions.
