06 September 2012
An experienced litigator, and Ireland’s only litigator with a pensions specialism, Deborah advises pension scheme trustees, employers and individuals on all aspects of pensions law, both contentious and non-contentious. She also advises domestic and multinational companies on pension issues arising on corporate mergers, acquisitions and restructures.
Deborah represents clients on a variety of pension-related employment disputes, including on Pensions Ombudsman and Pensions Board investigations. She has particular expertise in advising clients on legal difficulties that arise when there is disparity between contractual promises and the provisions of pension scheme governing documentation.
Deborah joined Mason Hayes & Curran in November 2006 as a Senior Associate. Prior to this, she worked as a solicitor in another Dublin law firm for 5 years and previously as an intern in the Employment Cabinet in the European Commission. Deborah is a Council member of the Association of Pension Lawyers in Ireland and the current Chair of the Pensions Law sub-committee in the Law Society of Ireland.
