We are delighted to have been shortlisted in the 2015 Allianz Business to Arts Awards with Temple Bar Gallery + Studios (TBG+S). The Awards recognise partnerships that bring business and the arts together.
TBG+S and Mason Hayes & Curran have been nominated for our activities in the category of Best Use of Creativity in the Community. Our sponsorship supports TBG+S's art education programme, which works with three schools in the Ringsend area.
A group of pupils from St Patrick’s Girls’ National School Ringsend present their work at our 2015 Children's Art Exhibition.
As part of the programme, children from St. Patrick's Girls' National School and St. Patrick's Boys' National School in Ringsend visit with artists in their studios at TBG+S to learn about how the artists create their work. The artists also visit with the children at their schools to help them create their own works of art which are then displayed in an exhibtion in our building which is attended by their teachers, parents and Mason Hayes & Curran staff.
In a second phase of the programme, a panel of young people from Ringsend College, aged 12-18, visit the gallery at TBG+S and learn about the process behind curating the art installations and exhibitions. Following on from this day of learning, they curate a section of the annual exhibition of the Mason Hayes & Curran Collection, which was most recently held in November-Christmas 2014.
Students pose in front of their curated works at Mason Hayes & Curran’s Christmas Art Exhibition 2014.
