Engage & Educate Awardee - Teen Turn
25 July 2018
The awardees for the second year of Mason Hayes & Curran's Engage & Educate fund, in conjunction with Social Innovation Fund Ireland and the Government, were recently announced by Minister Seán Kyne, Mason Hayes & Curran Partner Richard Woulfe and Deirdre Mortell, CEO, Social Innovation Fund Ireland.
Teen Turn is a project that provides role models and hands-on experience to teenage girls from disadvantaged communities. The goal of Teen Turn is to encourage and enable improved school performances and help the students work towards post-secondary STEM courses and qualifications. The project also addresses the issues of social inclusion, gender disparity and the skills shortage challenges that exist in STEM industries.
Joanne Dolan, Co-Founder of Teen Turn, commented, "As a volunteer-led charity, Teen-Turn relies on donated time and in-kind contributions to provide the necessary resources to deliver 10,000 hours of learning to our beneficiaries every year. With this award, we are now positioned to better manage and support our ever-expanding network of professional women mentoring teen girls from underrepresented communities."
