Mason Hayes & Curran Sponsor CoderDojo Coolest Projects
Event Date: 17 June 2017
We were delighted to sponsor and attend the CoderDojo Coolest Projects on Saturday 17th June in the RDS.
The awards, which are now in their fifth year, create a unique platform for young people to develop a broad set of digital abilities by offering them the opportunity to showcase the skills they have learned at CoderDojo.
More than 800 people aged from six to 17 attended to present the projects they created at their local CoderDojos. Melanie Crowley, Partner and Head of our Employment Law & Benefits team, was among the judges on the day.
The youngest category winner was seven-year-old Arran King from Dublin, who was awarded first place in the "Scratch under-eights category" for his Breadboy game. Other project winners included 15-year-old Jeroen De Vos from Belgium who developed an app to help refugees settle in a new country, and 12-year-old Amy Cunningham from Wicklow who was named runner-up in the "Hardware" and "Future Maker" categories for her Amy’s Buzzy Hive project.
