Liquidity Risk Management Of Banks With Prof. Dr. Niels Olaf Angermüller

Event Date: 02 September 2011
Mason Hayes & Curran were delighted to host the German-Irish Chamber of Industry and Commerce breakfast seminar on current requirements in Liquidity Risk Management of Banks on 2nd September 2011.

A very interesting morning was had by over 40 participants of the Breakfast Seminar “Liquidity Risk Management of Banks” hosted by the German-Irish Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Mason Hayes & Curran.

A more intense and rigid supervision and implementation of new global regulatory banking standard Basel III has been recommended by German banking expert Professor Dr. Niels Angermüller from Hochschule Harz in Germany.

Speaking at the breakfast seminar in the offices of Mason Hayes & Curran, Professor Dr. Angermüller presented the “German way” of minimising banking risks to over 40 representatives from Irish and international Banks. He emphasised that the requirements on risk management have changed: “What used to be only a question of price is now - after the financial crisis - a question of price and availability.”

Germany could be used as an example because significant changes have been made by the German financial supervision as a reaction to the financial crisis in 2009 and the current banking environment.
