We are delighted to host our next event in our Public, Regulatory & Investigations seminar series on Tuesday 5 November from 8.00am at our offices on Barrow Street, Dublin 4.

Recent years have seen a steady increase in regulatory and other investigations and inquiries. This has highlighted a need to focus on witnesses, as happened when the Supreme Court recently held in favour of ex-CEO of Rehab Angela Kerins, in a challenge concerning her attendance and treatment as a witness.

Our speakers will look at the rights and obligations of witnesses in the context of investigations and inquiries. They will discuss how best to prepare if you are conducting such an investigation, or are called to appear as a witness. They will also look at the particular effect of the Angela Kerins and Denis O'Brien cases on appearances before parliamentary committees.

Speakers and topics:

Rights and Obligations of Witnesses - Laura Rattigan, Senior Associate, Mason Hayes & Curran

Oireachtas Committees after Kerins and O'Brien - Rossa Fanning SC

A Checklist for Witness Attendance - Niall Michel, Partner, Mason Hayes & Curran
