Airline leaders from around the world have gathered in Dublin from 1-3 June 2016 for the 72nd International Air Transport Association’s annual general meeting. The first time Ireland hosted this event was 54 years ago in 1962 and makes a welcome return to the city.
The AGM and World Air Transport Summit is the world’s largest gathering of airline leaders. The agenda for the conference includes discussion on the future of aviation; panel discussion from Airline CEOs on the industry; and industry expert panels on cybersecurity and climate change. According to IATA, aviation generates about €9.5 billion in GDP and supports 220,000 jobs in Ireland.
Shane Ross, Minister for Transport with responsibility for aviation is due to deliver the keynote address on Thursday, 2 June.
