Along with the Wheel, we will host a Beneficial Ownership Seminar for Charities on Wednesday 19 June in our offices on Barrow St, Dublin 4. The purpose of this seminar is to explain a new incoming legal requirement for charitable companies related to beneficial ownership. At this seminar our speakers will consider the new Beneficial Ownership of Corporate Entities Regulations and how they will impact charities which are companies.

The new legal requirement comes into force on 22 June and charitable companies have until 22 November to complete the new filing. This filing requirement is part of an initiative at EU level to combat money laundering by compelling all companies (including charitable companies) to provide a list of their “beneficial owners”.

At this seminar, our speakers will discuss the new legal requirement in the particular context of the company limited by guarantee, and the charitable purpose and beneficiaries of charities.
