Examples
The following are examples of work which the public affairs team has recently been engaged in:
- Preparation of a submission to the Department of Finance on behalf of a client in relation to the formulation of the National Development Plan 2007 – 2013, which involved the development of a range of proposals regarding Ireland’s infrastructural requirements, with a view to having our client’s proposals incorporated into the new National Development Plan.
- Conducting a review of legislation governing the nursing homes sector on behalf of a client, and the production of a report proposing a series of detailed legislative reforms for submission to the Minister for Health and Children.
- Engaging with the Department of the Environment in the context of a restricted consultation process relating to the Building Control Bill on behalf of a client. This also involved drafting a series of proposed amendments for submission to the Departmental officials. In addition to engaging with the key Departmental officials, our strategy also involved briefing all of the relevant spokespersons from the main opposition parties, as well as making a formal presentation to the relevant parliamentary committee.
- Reviewing the draft Intoxicating Liquor Codification Bill for a client and submitted a series of amendments to the Department of Justice for incorporation into the Bill in advance of its publication.
- Drafting a series of legislative provisions, as well as statutory instruments for a number of public sector clients.
