Non-Contentious

Recent non-contentious construction experience

Mason Hayes & Curran has a strong non-contentious construction practice which is focused on early provision of advice and input to the best advantage of clients. We pay particular attention to the examination of the proposed method of procurement for construction works and the risks attendant to various contract structures. The practice aims to assist clients in the successful and commercial execution of their projects, whether as contractor or developer.  Examples of recent work include:-

  • Representing a large Irish construction company in the successful tender for an €80 million Dublin city centre deal. Advice and representation is on-going as construction begins and sales roll out.
  • Acting for lenders and borrowers in relation to wind farm developments ranging in value from €10 million to €70 million.
  • Acting for a large multinational company on the construction and fit out of their new European HQ in Dublin.
  • Acting for a multinational corporation in relation to a turnkey contract for a specialist Wastewater Treatment Plant at manufacturing facility.
  • Advising the developer on all elements of the construction and commercial property aspects on one of Ireland's most prestigious business parks.
  • Advising an international contractor on FIDIC Design Build Operate and Maintain contract for a water treatment plant in Monaghan.
  • Advising international contractor on its bid and the FIDIC Design Build Operate and Maintain contract terms for a €40 million water metering project.
  • Advising a large multinational and an Irish process contractor on contract and procurement issues relating to different €50 million-plus water treatment plants.
  • Representing a US multinational on bespoke JV / construction contracts for multi-million Euro facility in Ireland.
  • Advising banks, retailers, developers and contractors on construction contracts for numerous projects including residential developments, office developments, bundled petrol stations and pharmaceutical facilities.

The team also has a breadth of experience acting for contentious construction matters.
