Competition+Anti Trust
Mason Hayes+Curran has an extensive practice in Irish and EU competition law. We frequently advise corporate and government clients on:
- merger notifications under the Irish Competition Act, 2002;
- EU mergers;
- joint ventures; and
- State Aid and competition compliance matters,
particularly in the context of State controlled companies and regulated industries such as electricity, telecommunications and transport.
Mason Hayes+Curran has filed, progressed and defended complaints concerning anti-competitive behaviour with the Irish Competition Authority and the Commission in Brussels.
Recommendations:
Chambers Global - The World's Leading Lawyers, Chambers and Partners, 2008.
This practice has a slightly different profile to its competitors, operating out of the firm’s commercial department and working to complement the firm’s established strengths. Accordingly, regulatory work features heavily, although the team also handles the full spectrum of general competition advice, including investigations, merger control, state aid, public procurement and complaints to both the Competition Authority and the EC. Clients commended “the very quick turnaround, added value and comprehensive advice” offered by this team.
