Paul is a Partner and Chairman of the Corporate Department, practising in corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions. He advises public, private and State-owned companies generally and on matters of company law, corporate governance and securities law.
Paul is the author or co-author of several publications, including Irish Company Secretarial Precedents (Co-authored with Liam Brazil and Paula Phelan, Jordans 1995, 1999, 2003, 4th edition pending), The Companies Acts of Ireland and the UK: Comparative Tables (Jordans, 1993 and 1995), Irish Corporate Procedures (Jordans, 1993, 1995 and 2007) and EU Securities Legislation (Co-authored with MH & C Partner Fionán Breathnach, 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2009). He also speaks regularly on legal matters. Paul has been a member of the statutory Company Law Review Group since 2000 and was Chairman of its Committee on PLCs and Associated Issues 2004 - 2006. From 1987 until 2004 he was a member of the Business Law Committee of the Law Society of Ireland, and Chairman 2002 to 2004. He is also a member of the Irish Stock Exchange’s Listing Committees. He is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales, as well as Ireland.
