Maurice is a Partner practising in Corporate Restructuring, Insolvency and Commercial Litigation.  He acts for insolvency office holders and stakeholders in the insolvency process.  He also advises companies and their directors on insolvency issues and routinely advises insolvency office holders and directors in connection with restriction order and disqualification order applications. 

Maurice has experience in a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including high value contractual and tortious disputes and shareholder disputes.  He has also acted for both claimants and respondents in domestic and international commercial arbitrations and disputes involving the Commercial Agents Directive.

Representative Matters:

• representing insolvency office holders in high profile insolvencies including those of Budget Travel Limited, Vantive Holdings and Morston Investments Limited (the two senior holding companies in the Zoe Property Group), South Midland Construction Company Limited, Redcorn Limited, Missford Limited t/a The Residence and KVC Manufacturing Limited and Esker Bus and Coach Limited;
• advising international and domestic financial institutions as secured creditors in numerous insolvencies;
• representing a subsidiary of a large Chinese telecoms multi-national in a high value commercial dispute with one of its Irish customers;
• representing a claimant in a high value commercial arbitration under ICC Rules; and

• representing one of Ireland’s leading building products providers in a high value contractual dispute.

Speaking Engagements and Teaching:

• Maurice has tutored in commercial arbitration and insolvency at The Law Society of Ireland.
