Gavin is a Partner in the Corporate Group. He practices in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, shareholders agreements, corporate establishments, equity investments and general corporate law.  He also has a particular focus on corporate activity in the healthcare sector and works closely with MH&C Healthcare to develop opportunities in that regard in respect of corporate advices to hospitals (public and private), inward investment to the healthcare industry, shareholder arrangements, corporate advices to medical professionals to include the acquisition and disposals of medical practices.

He also assists our Tax Department and the corporate department on tax based corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions; corporate transformations, restructurings and re-organisations and cross-border transactions, including inward investment.

 Prior to joining Mason Hayes & Curran, Gavin worked for a number of years in the corporate department of a Dublin based legal practice gaining particular expertise in the area of corporate restructuring. This included all types of corporate restructuring, re-organisation and transformation during which time he also obtained the Associate of the Irish Taxation Institute (AITI) qualification.

Recent Matters:

• Represented the shareholders of Argutus Medical Limited on the disposal of their entire shareholding to the AIM listed entity, EKF Diagnostic Holdings plc.
• Represented the Nasdaq listed, Silicon Labs Inc, on its acquisition of the entire issued share capital of ChipSensors Limited..
• Acting for the Receiver of the WeCare chain of pharmacies..
• Represented Xilinx Inc in its acquisition of Omiino Limited.
• Acted for Berkshire Partners, LLC, Advent International Corporation and Bain Capital Partners, LLC in their recommended $1.1 billion offer by way of scheme of arrangement for Skillsoft plc.
• Represented the Shareholders of Biotrin Group Limited, an Irish incorporated  medical diagnostic company, on its sale to DiaSorin S.p.A
• Represented Kinnerton Confectionery in its acquisition of Lir Chocolates Limited.
• Represented Carlton Screen Advertising Limited in the disposal of its Irish business.
• Represented H & J Martin Limited in its acquisition of Acuman Facilities Management Limited from Newcourt Group plc (in receivership).

Speaking Engagements and Teaching:

• Gavin lectures for Central Law Training in relation to company and corporate law.
• Gavin has lectured to the Association of Chartered  Certified Accountants on partnership law.
• Gavin has contributed to the corporate session of the recent Annual Congress of the Union Internationale des Avocats
