Gerard is a partner in the corporate department and has significant experience in all aspects of corporate law with particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, investments and shareholder agreements. Gerard advises public bodies, companies and directors on company law and best practice corporate governance and corporate social responsibility.

Gerard lectures in the Law School of the Law Society of Ireland in relation to corporate acquisitions and disposals, shareholders agreements and matters of corporate governance. He has also lectured other professional bodies including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland on corporate governance matters.

• Advised Fastnet on the acquisition of Pathfinder Hydrocarbon Ventures Limited;
• Represented Schibsted Classified Media AS on the acquisition of a majority shareholding in Done Deal Limited
• Represented IFG in relation to its acquisition of 70% of the issued share capital of A.R.B Underwriting Limited and its wholly owned subsidiary A.R. Brassington & Co
• Represented Berkshire Partners, LLC, Advent International Corporation and Bain Capital Partners, LLC in their recommended $1.1 billion offer by way of scheme of arrangement for Skillsoft plc
• Represented Simpson Strong-Tie Ireland Limited in its acquisition of part of the business and assets of Liebig Group
• Representing Activision Blizzard on the integration of Activision Inc and Vivendi Games
