Liam Brazil is a Partner in our Corporate Department. Liam advises and practices in the area of mergers and acquisitions (primarily private), joint ventures, corporate establishments, corporate restructurings, shareholder arrangements, corporate finance and insolvency support. Liam has a reputation for being focussed and for having the temperament to get the deal done.

Liam, has in recent years established a reputation in the renewable sector and in particular in the sale and purchase of wind farm projects (both operational and in development).  It started in 2007 when he acted for Treasury Holdings in the sale of its onshore wind farm interests and has, since then, acted for various sellers and purchasers of wind farm projects.

Representative Matters:

• advising Mylan Inc in relation to the Irish law aspects of its $550m acquisition of Bioniche Pharma Holdings Limited
• currently advising Vedanta Resources Plc in relation to Irish law aspects of its proposed acquisition of Lisheen Mines as part of its $1.3b acquisition of mining assets from the Anglo American mining group;
• advising Treasury Holdings on the sale of Eco Wind Power Limited (which owned all of Treasury's on shore wind farm interests) to Viridian Power and Energy Holdings Limited;
• advising FL Partners (a Dublin based private equity firm) on their acquisitions of the Kayfoam Woolfson group of companies and, separately, the Procut Engineering and ATA group of companies;
• advising family interests (not publicly disclosed) in relation to the disposal of their wind farm interests to ESB Power Generation Holding Company Ltd;
• advising on the sale of certain assets of Budget Travel Limited (in liquidation) to Club Travel;
• advising RTÉ (the Irish State owned national broadcaster) on the privatisation process (not concluded) and then hive-down of the national broadcast transmission assets into a dedicated subsidiary of RTÉ.
