Philip Nolan, Partner
Philip is a partner and head of Mason Hayes+Curran's Commercial Department. Having studied at University College Dublin, De Paul University, Chicago and at the University of Oxford, Philip joined Mason Hayes+Curran where he completed his training.
Philip advises both public and private clients in relation to communications, information technology, intellectual property and competition law. Philip has also developed a focused regulatory advisory practice which includes public procurement law, data protection law and energy law.
Philip has co-authored the second and third editions of Business Law published by Oxford University Press in conjunction with the Irish Law Society's Law School. He also co-authored a book entitled Irish Information Technology Law published by Cavendish.
At the Law School of the Law Society of Ireland, Philip teaches information technology law, software licensing law, data protection law and commercial law.
Philip is actively involved in a number of international organisations including the Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats (AIJA) and the International Technology Law Association. He previously served as President of the Technology, Media and Intellectual Property Commission of AIJA and was recently elected to AIJA's Executive Committee.
Philip has served as a member of the Editorial Board of the Gazette of the Law Society of Ireland and the Curriculum Development Unit of the Law Society of Ireland.
