William Carmody, Partner

Will is a partner in the Financial Services Department.  He focuses on transactional banking work, acting for both lenders and borrowers and his practice areas include, project finance, leveraged and acquisition finance, advising on Irish law issues in multi-jurisdictional lending transactions and advising on general corporate borrowings.

Will’s project finance practice has a particular emphasis on the financing of renewable energy projects and he has acted on transactions which have reached financial close which have an installed energy capacity totaling approximately 300MW and a combined funding value of approximately €500,000,000.

Will has wide experience advising across the broad range of debt based transactional matters including secured and unsecured finance transactions, (on both a bilateral and syndicated basis), security and inter-creditor arrangements, tax based lending structures, acquisition finance, refinancing and financial restructurings, as well as various other debt finance transactions.

Will has advised Irish lenders financing the acquisition by Irish borrowers of real estate investments in a number of European markets with a total investment value of approximately €180,000,000.

He also advises lenders in respect of distressed debt situations and the enforcement of security in insolvent circumstances.
