MUD - Refreshing Facelift or just another problem?

Mason Hayes & Curran hosted a briefing on the Multi-Unit Development (MUD) Act on Wednesday 11th May 2011.

The briefing explored whether the Act succeeds in sorting out the legal challenges posed by multi-unit living. The legislation is important for anyone dealing with property in Ireland, whether as owner, investor, operator, funder, manager or receiver.

The speakers focused on:

  • The scope of the Act;
  • The new legal obligation to transfer common areas;
  • The implications for management companies; and
  • New dispute resolution mechanisms
